#NorthsideStJ 4th Graders in Mrs. Johnsons class participated in a gallery walk, sharing the main idea and identifying figurative language from the book The Circulatory Story.

Monday and Tuesday this week, #NorthsideStJ 3rd graders had the opportunity to attend the "Vikings Voyage", a STEM based partnership between the Science Museum of Minnesota and the Minnesota Vikings. Students learned about STEM based careers and explored US Bank Stadium.




#NorthsideStJ Kindergartners in Mrs. Winrich's class competed a "mix-and-mingle" to share their observations about an image of a sensory experience (county fair) before reading a new story, Rap A Tap Tap the first time.

#NorthsideStJ Kindergartners excercised their civic duty this afternoon and voted for the best dessert: Ice Cream or Cake.




Grade 4 #NorthsideStJ students learning about a "literal great heart" by demonstrating their understanding of figurative language during their Module 1 Lesson 13 lesson.




Last week, Grade 3 #NorthsideStJ students worked on their "Array Cities" where students create their city using math problems to then depict their array model as a building. A great way to integrate some hands-on learning in the math classroom.




Last week, #NorthsideStJ students in Grades 2-5 learned about the voting process and were able to take part in the "MN Students Vote" mock election.

Grade 2 #NorthsideStJ students had to use their sense of touch in Science today to determine what represented the "brains, eyes, fingers, and finger nails"



Grade 4 #NorthsideStJ students are exploring the focusing question: "What is a great heart, literally?" Students were annotating the text: "The Circulatory Story" to determine the two most important details about blood vessels on their assigned pages.



#NorthsideStJ paraprofessionals are ready for a great day with students.


Grade 2 #NorthsideStJ students are exploring "seasons of change" and have been reading "A Color of His Own" by Leo Lionni. Students created their own chameleons this morning.

Mrs. Becker (Visual Arts) & Mrs. Ommodt (STEM) created a unit centered around Harold and the Purple Crayon. These #NorthsideStJ KA students have been "exploring artistic ideas through intentional play: curvy/horizontal lines w/ golf balls & Harold's friend Porcupine.




#NorthsideStJ KA students in Ms. Trautman's class are math all-stars! They are exploring the essential question, "How do we show how many?" Today's objective is to identify "one more".
