Cooperative Name Selection
The SJM Pairing Committee is providing an exciting update on the process to determine a cooperative name for our St. James and Madela (SJM) athletics partnership. After gathering input through a survey of 9th–12th grade students from both Madelia and St. James Public Schools, one name was the overwhelming favorite among students in both communities.
The name that will be presented to the Madelia and St. James School Boards for approval is SJM Spartans. This name was the clear #1 choice for students at both schools.
The next phase of this process will focus on logo development. SJM coaches will work together to determine possible logos for the SJM Spartans. Once options are identified, SJM 9th–12th grade students will be invited to provide input on the logo selection.
The SJM Pairing Committee is working to keep the process moving forward so that teams can have new gear for the quickly approaching winter season.
